Susan Ryan has been a Florida elementary school teacher for 25 years and was selected Lake County’s Teacher of the Year in 1998. She has been a consultant on several award-winning activity guides for Florida State University’s Energy and Environmental Alliance and has written several environmental books for children, including Esmeralda and the Enchanted Pond, published by Pineapple Press. Susan lives in Eustis, Florida, with husband Mike, daughter Diana, and cat Flower.
