Ghost Orchid Ghost and Other Tales from the Swamp
Author of
In writing tales for this book, Doug Alderson drew upon many years of entertaining young people as a summer camp counselor and storyteller, and also from decades as a swamp explorer. He has written about Florida swamps, black bears, and other topics for magazines such as Wildlife Conservation, Sierra, American Forests, and Florida Wildlife. A former associate editor of Florida Wildlife, he won a national writing award for a series of articles about the Everglades. His first book was Waters Less Traveled: Exploring Florida’s Big Bend Coast. Doug lives south of Tallahassee with his wife, Cyndi, and daughter, Cheyenne.
